At Nassau BOCES, we offer a multitude of educational opportunities and support services for students of all ages and abilities striving to reach their full potential.

Career and Technical Education (CTE)
From teenagers earning certification to adults learning English to become citizens, our
CTE program provides the skills needed for success in the workplace via a career education center for high school students, job training for men and women, specialized services for adults with disabilities and basic education classes.

High School Program – Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Education Center: In addition to a diploma, students at our career and technical high school want a head start in gaining the learning skills needed for employment and/or more direction in what they want to study at college.

Adult Career and Educational Services (ACES): Our ACES program provides career and technology courses as well as certificate programs in the evening for working adults, a comprehensive program in adult literacy and career development, and job placement and training for out-of-school youth and adults with disabilities.

Regional Schools and Instructional Programs (RSIP)
We are a leader in addressing the social and emotional needs of children and their families. In addition to offering alternative learning environments for students who are unable to learn in the traditional educational system, we have the only public arts high school on Long Island, a comprehensive teenage parenting program and an English literacy program for those in need of more than the traditional English as a second language classes.

Special Education
We offer a comprehensive array of special education programs for students, ages 3-21, who are moderately to severely disabled. Each student is prepared to reach his or her potential and to become as independent and productive as possible. All of our program curricula are adapted to meet the New York State Learning Standards and provide individualized instruction, with many graduates entering the workforce or a post-secondary educational institution.
