   Program Information Report  (PIR)

A document that describes who in your district has the information you need to complete the required Program Information Report (PIR)

 Gathering the Data

The information we are providing is written in such a way that it will be useful to you while writing your application during the summer months of July and August each year. 

The Program Information Report (PIR) requires data to be collected and documented on the form provided by New York State as part of the No Child Left Behind consolidated application.  This data is reflective of the school year just completed while the rest of the application makes projections for the forth coming school year. 

The records your district maintains for Academic Intervention Services are vital to the completion of the Program Information Report (PIR).   It would be very helpful to the person in your district responsible for completing the PIR if the AIS forms were designed with the PIR in mind.  This would permit a simple transfer of data from one form to another. 

In the absence of comprehensive AIS forms, the needed data can be found on your district's database and can be down loaded for PIR purposes.  If there is no database or If the database is missing some required information, there are individuals within your district who may be able to provide you with the data.  Reading, math and ESL specialists most likely maintain records for the targeted population they service.  Their information should be able to assist you in completing the data for  "Instructional Programs" in Parts A, B, and C in the PIR.   Information for the "student support services" portions of Parts A, B, and C of the PIR should be available from guidance counselors, school psychologists and social workers.
